Darrin Patrick, Lead Pastor of The Journey and Vice-President of Acts 29 Newtwork, spoke at the Francis A. Schaeffer Lectures in October at Covenant Seminary in St Louis, Missouri.
One of the confusing things about the emerging church is to try to figure out what the terms mean. Buzzwords abound in the emerging church: Kingdom, Missional, Authenticity, Mystery, Community and Narrative. What do these words mean? How do you define them? Do those in the emerging church even agree on definitions?
What is interesting is that many of the same words are used and defined almost the exact same way across the various streams of the emerging church. However, the words "missional" and the "Kingdom" have radically different definitions in the emerging church as you will hear.
