The people of God have always been chosen for the sake of the world. When they forget that they forget their God-given missional identity. This will be explored both narratively and systematically. Narratively, we will look at the role of God’s people in the Bible. Systematically, we will ask what a missional ecclesiology looks like.
Michael Goheen is the Geneva Professor of Religious and Worldview Studies at Trinity Western University, Langley, B.C. and minister of preaching at New West Christian Reformed Church, Burnaby, B.C. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Utrecht (Netherlands) writing a dissertation on the missionary ecclesiology of Lesslie Newbigin.
