Apply
When is the appropriate time to apply to Acts 29?
If you have already planted your church or currently leading an established church, then you can apply at any time. If you are a new lead planter, called by God, appropriately gifted, certain of the task which lies before you and you are 12 months or less from starting your church, it is time to apply. Please note that clarity of call is more important than a precise timeline (i.e. the 12 month figure is approximate, though the clarity of call is essential).
If you are unsure whether you are a lead guy, do not have a clear call, lack giftedness, are uncertain of what you are to do, and/or do not have a timeline in place, it would be better to patiently wait and seek the Lord for clarity and not submit an application with Acts 29 at this time. A helpful option may be to attend an upcoming Boot Camp to assist in exploring your call. Also, be sure to review "The Ox-Qualifications of an Acts 29 Church Planter" and prayerfully ask yourself if you are the man described therein.
Some helpful resources in clarifying your calling to plant a church and partnering with Acts 29 might be:
1. Attend an upcoming Boot Camp or Regional Event to assist in exploring your call.
2. Listen to "The Mission and Vision of Acts 29 Network" by Mark Driscoll
3. Work through Scott Thomas' blogs "The Planter's Ultimatum", "Am I a Church Planter?" and Allen Thompson's "Is Church Planting for Me?" and prayerfully ask yourself if you are the man described therein.
If you desire to do a church planting internship before planting your church or would like to see if there are some job openings within any Acts 29 churches, please feel free to fill out this form and we'll see what we can do to connect you with some Acts 29 churches in your target area.
Please note the following before applying:
1) REVIEW FAQ:
Please carefully review the Acts 29 FAQ, paying particular attention to the "Application Process" section.
2) REVIEW DOCTRINAL STATEMENT:
Please carefully review and be in agreement with the Acts 29 Doctrinal Statement. Also, listen to Mark Driscoll's Mission & Vision of Acts 29 Network.
3) REVIEW APPLICATION PROCESS:
Reference the Application Process page to know the tasks that are required to complete the application process. Please note that you will need to devote a considerable amount of time to finish the application process and that Phase 1 must be completed one month prior to the boot camp that you plan to attend and be assessed at.
4) TO APPLY:
To apply to the Acts 29 Network, please complete the Initial Application (Lead Pastor/Planter of the church is the only one that needs to apply; the Initial Application will take 10-15 minutes to complete.)
*Networking is a key aspect of Acts 29. If you live in an area where there are other Acts 29 churches, we would encourage you to connect with those planters in your target area to begin to develop relationships as we network together to see the gospel transform your city. See list of Acts 29 churches here.
INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
There are only certain countries that we are presently focusing our attention on at this time so not all international applications will be approved. To steward our church planting efforts globally, we are only taking applications where Acts 29 has a country leader or director to then be able to invest in those church planters and lead the effort of church planting in their respective country. Please fill out this form if you are not in one of these countries: United States, Canada, Australasia, Western Europe, and Brasil (Portuguese applicaton here). All other countries, please fill out this form: International Inquiries Form
