Workshop descriptions:
Total Church:
You’ve all read the book (and if you haven’t, you should) – in this track Steve Timmis will delve into the gospel-centered community on mission. Like the book, this track will drive toward healthy practice, driven by healthy reflection, for planting churches that are strong with both fists: community and truth.
Worship Track:
Led by some of the best practitioners in the field, this track will cover everything from theologically rich songwriting and liturgy to a bird’s-eye-view of planning your worship calendar and building a worship team from the ground up. This track is for worship leaders and pastors alike as they seek to equip the Body to worship God with their whole lives, both through Sunday gatherings and day to day teaching and modeling.
CP From the Ground Up:
From the trenches for the trenches. This track gathers Church Planters from around the country who are in the thick of establishing a thriving plant. They will offer reflections on what has worked, what hasn’t and what God has done to sustain them through the difficult journey so far. This track will cover everything from gathering your core to establishing vision and values in your people. The track is ideally suited for planters in years 0 to 3.
Wives track:
This track will feature Jani Ortlund, author and wife of Acts 29 pastor Ray Ortlund. Planting a church is a high and difficult calling for a man, and also a high and difficult calling for his wife. Aside from Christ, no one will have as much impact on a pastor’s heart for mission as his wife. Jani Ortlund and Mandy Montgomery will offer their insights on being a wife on mission with her husband. In addition, the track will include a panel and Q&A session with wives of church planters in various stages of church planting.
Pastor as Resident Theologian:
Theology and Mission are inextricably bound for it is mission – the day to day mess of relationships and engagement – that drives us to theology. The local church pastor must be a practitioner of sound doctrine while engaged in the work of daily mission and cannot rely on theology produced solely in academe. This track will examine the interaction between deep reflection and radical action from various angles including church history and church planting.
Executive Pastor Track:
This track brings together some of the premier executive leaders from growing churches across the country. How do you lead and structure churches in order to bring the whole gospel to the whole world? From strategic planning and communication (internal and external) to missional systems and structures, this is the track for those kingly men who want to keep the mission organized and focused (and even funded).
Speakers:

Kevin Cawley is the directional leader of Redeemer Fellowship in the Midtown neighborhoods of Kansas City. He planted Redeemer together with a team of elders in the summer of 2008. Because they are in the early phases of church planting, Kevin spends most his time trying to maintain his sanity.
Redeemer Fellowship is committed to gospel centered community development and Kevin is passionate about cultivating leaders and seeing the truth of the Gospel transform lives for God’s glory and the good of the city.
Kevin holds a M.A. in Biblical Exegesis from Wheaton College and is completing his ThM in Philosophical Theology from Regent College. He and his wife Katie have one son Quinn.

The church has seen a tremendous response, growing from 160 people to over five thousand. Alongside his current role as lead pastor, Matt is involved in church planting efforts locally and internationally. Before coming to The Village, Matt had a vibrant itinerant ministry for over ten years where he spoke to hundreds of thousands of people in America and abroad about the glory of God and beauty of Jesus.
