Mission, Vision, Values of Church

vision is to express the glory of God by making disciples

Our mission is to be disciple making disciples and a church planting church

Our values are truth, community, and equipping.

Truth: A shaping of truth and it's authority is our first value. Jesus in scripture is our only authority and affection. Scripture is our highest authority, and trusting Jesus and His word is the first step to understanding life. In this life, we will look for security, purpose, and hope from the wrecks we make our lives. Jesus is the only answer to these unending questions. The truth of life's direction is found in understand our increasing need for Him and His atoning grace.

Community: A shaping of biblical community is our second value. True community is found all over scripture. Scripture speaks to community in Acts chapter two that devotes themselves to the apostles teaching, fellowship, remembering and worshiping Christ, praying, seeing the Spirit do wonders, taking care of those in need, and seeing people trust in Christ.

Equipping: A shaping of the body of Christ equipping and sending as jesus Commanded in Matthew 28. People do what makes sense to them. If people are not going in the all the world baptizing, teaching, and proclaiming the gospel, it may not make sense to them. Scripture would suggest they don't understand the gospel or their sin. As a result of desiring to see people understand the gospel in a Bible-belt culture, we place a strong emphasis on equipping.

What are some examples of God's grace that you have seen in your life and/or the life of your church?

We have been seeking opportunities, for almost five years, to share the Gospel with our neighbors, friends, and connections in Frisco, TX. Near year three we knew God was calling us to plant a church. We started Mercy Church with a couple of families who felt the same call. To date, we have 15 Launch Team Families, one partnering a29 church and no other financial support outside of family, friends, and launch team members. It has been utterly beautiful to see God work in this way. We would not have it any other way. He has proven faithful providing every thing we needed, every step of the way.

Mercy Church has seen many who would not previously set foot in a church, one such man came to our first service. He had previously told us that he was not "good" enough to go to “church.” When I saw him walk in on launch Sunday, I knew God moving in his life. He returned for our second service, helped set up for the third, was in jail on the forth, returned on the fifth, and brought his entire extended family to our Christmas Eve service.

There are several of these connections that have rooted our trust deeper in God's grace. It is our sincere prayer that we would continue to grow as disciples of Jesus and disciple others.

How can we pray for you?

Pray that our Launch Team Members will be faithful to the call, which is to be disciples of Jesus and to make disciples of Jesus.

Pray that we will properly train and lead our Launch Team/Covenant Members to be people who love others generously with their time, efforts, and resources.

Pray for our disciple-making strategy, that every member will be equipped and trained to have: 1) a relationship with Jesus from whom they learn, 2) believers whom they disciple by leading , 3) non-believers whom they generously love

Pray that our strategy of disciple making would include both spiritually awake and spiritually dead individuals, that it would also produce disciples of Jesus not disciples of Mercy Church, and that it would result in people in our community knowing, following, and being changed by Jesus.
