Briefly describe your story of your call to plant a church

God called me out of the CIA, gave me a wife, sent me to seminary, then called me to plant churches beginning in Boston, MA.

How did you build up your core? What advice would you give to guys in the core-stage?

I invested a lot of time into young people, whom other churches wrote off as irreverent.

What were the biggest challenges you faced in planting your church (and/or currently facing)?

Financial. Gotta get that dough.

How did you become involved with Acts 29? What have been the biggest benefits of being in the network?

Boot camp. Biggest benefit hands down has been the networking and friendships.

What advice do you have for men who are wrestling with the decision to plant?

Do it.

What's the most important thing you'd want to share with a new church planter?

Raise money before planting.

How do you pastor your family?

Love. Scripture. Prayer. Fun.

The vision for Grace Church Boston (Церковь Благодать) is to reach Russian-Americans in Boston with the Gospel of Jesus for the Glory of the Father by the Power of the Holy Spirit.

What are some examples of God's grace that you have seen in your life and/or the life of your church?

Going from 0 to 45 with 18 months in the least churched city in America, amongst some of the hardest people to reach on the planet: Russians!

How can we pray for you?

Pray for my love for Jesus, Tanya, Sophia and our baby set to arrive in a month. Pray for wisdom as I balance the spiritual and pragmatic sides of church planting: I want to work hard and rely deeply (1 Cor. 15:10). Pray for parking.
