What advice do you have for men who are wrestling with the decision to plant?
My advice to everyone (who is able) is to do an apprenticeship with a church plant and wrestle through all of your doubts, questions and fears, so that when/if you are in the middle of your plant the questions and doubts of whether or not God called you are in the past. An apprenticeship/internship will also allow the elders to watch your life and doctrine and affirm your call.
What’s the most important thing you’d want to share with a new church planter?
You do not know how sinful you are. You will find out when you plant a church. Begin to ask the Holy Spirit now to show you how you are envisioning your kingdom for your glory. Remind yourself daily that she is not your church, you did not purchase her with your blood, Christ did.
Outside of the Bible, what is the most helpful book you have read for church planting?
Church Planter by Darrin Patrick ... and though not a book, podcast the Acts 29 Boot Camps

What are some examples of God's grace that you have seen in your life and/or the life of your church?
We have developed a terminology amongst our team called "Just Barely." God has been so gracious in that we have seen countless incidences of barely enough time, barely enough space and barely enough money. Our biggest celebration so far is a college student who visited our core group once, but has been consistent since we launched in September. One Sunday in February, while singing Amazing grace, the Holy Spirit brought her from death to life. She went forward and took communion for the first time. We baptized her a few weeks later.
How can we pray for you?
Please pray that we are able to make headway with the University of Central Florida this fall. We want to see disciples, leader, elders and church planters come out of that University.
