Briefly describe your story of your call to plant a church
I have been blessed to be a part of two other Acts 29 church plants since 2002. From 2002-2010 I was traveling full-time as an itinerant preacher. In late 2009, I really began to sense that God was calling my family and I to begin the process of planting a church.
How did you build up your core? What advice would you give to guys in the core-stage?
Very slowly. About 6 months in, we had an implosion of sorts. I would highly advise guys looking to plant not to allow people who have been burned in other church planting experiences to join in the initial core, as they have a lot of hurt (understandably) and frustrations. If you do, there is a high chance you will have the failures of other leaders projected onto you. This is inevitable pastoring a church, but crippling early on.
What were the biggest challenges you faced in planting your church (and/or currently facing)?
See above.

Mission, Vision, Values of Church
Mission
Christ Community Church exists to see lives transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, discipleship occur through intentional life-on-life community, and cultural renewal by living on mission.
Vision
OUR VISION is to be a Gospel-centered community living together on mission by pointing people to right relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ.
Core Values
Worship – More than just a ‘service’ we believe that worship informs our entire life.
Growth – We are committed to seeing people enjoy God more by growing in their knowledge and experience of Him through various learning / growth opportunities.
Community – Our faith was never intended to be lived out in isolation. Therefore, as the Triune God exists in community, we are created to exist in community with other followers of Christ. Because of this, we value intentional, Christ-centered community with one another.
Mission – We believe an appropriate response to the Gospel is to live on mission as God’s representatives pointing people to a right relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.
What are some examples of God's grace that you have seen in your life and/or the life of your church?
I have experienced God's grace in and through this process of church planting. One of the greatest lessons that I have learned so far is that what may appear to be a crippling experience, i.e. half of your initial core moving on, God often uses those things (all things, right?) to refine you as a leader, and to mold His church into what He wants it to be.
How can we pray for you?
Please pray for my wife Stephanie and I. We have experienced 4 miscarriages, 1 before our daughter, and 3 since. We are currently receiving mild fertility treatment. We are trusting and waiting on the Lord.
