Briefly describe your story of your call to plant a church

While on staff at a local Church, God began to stir in me a burden for a new work among the city of Santa Fe. As I took it to prayer God literally gave me a prophetic dream with very detailed events. As each event began to come to pass before my eyes I sought God for direction and timing. I prayed that he would confirm this work with my wife and pastor. in a matter of weeks HE did both.

How did you build up your core? What advice would you give to guys in the core-stage?

I built my core through weekly discipleship of men who were attending our fellowship. Walking with them sharing our lives. Calling and challenging them to the mission of God.

What were the biggest challenges you faced in planting your church (and/or currently facing)?

The biggest challenge in the beginning was getting people on mission. Teaching that God has called us to so much more than consumeristic Christianity. Our biggest challenge now is keeping them on mission. Teaching them that until our Lord returns there is always battles to fight, souls to win, and transformation to take place.

How did you become involved with Acts 29? What have been the biggest benefits of being in the network?

I became involved in A29 through Pastor David Bruskas who graciously met and spent time with me. The biggest benefits of being in the network is the brotherhood that exists, the genuine desire to see others succeed in the mission that God has called them to. The support, love, encouragement, and if need be rebuke.

What advice do you have for men who are wrestling with the decision to plant?

Make sure that you have a gospel coach whose speaking into your life. Who can walk with you through the processes.

How do you pastor your family?

I try my best to lead like Jesus in that I desire to be the pastor, provider, and protector of my home as prescribed by Paul in Ephesians 5:25-32

Outside of the Bible, what is the most helpful book you have read for church planting?

Confessions of a Reformission Rev.

Mission, Vision, Values of Church

Blaze is a Christian Fellowship where we gather for the purpose of knowing and glorifying Jesus Christ as both Lord & Savior. We desire to see the culture we live among become committed to live as followers of Jesus Christ through the power of the Gospel. We want to spark a passion for God and his Gospel in the hearts of people that they intern inginte the world around them for Jesus Christ.

What is your philosophy of community in your church and what does that look like practically in your church? Of evangelism?

Family... We are family. That means that 90% of what we do takes place outside the church facility in homes where we gather together and simply live life together. We believe that God has given every Christian a sphere of influence in which to make an impact for Christ. We truly believe this happens as we simply live our lives among the culture were planted in.

What are some examples of God's grace that you have seen in your life and/or the life of your church?

The ability everyday to wage ware against sin, The ability to lead my wife and children well, The ability to cast vision and lead families unlike my own on the mission of God. These are all accomplished by the Grace of God in my life.

How can we pray for you?

For God's continued grace, wisdom and direction in my life and for my ministry.
