Mission, Vision & Values of Anchor:
Anchor strives to spread the good news of Jesus in Seattle. We will seek transformation in our own lives, our church, and our city by gospel word, gospel action, and gospel community. As a people of God, we desire to bless the city and see it renewed by Jesus and the work of His Spirit.
Identities:
As Gospel Communities we constantly call each other to our Identities (Who we are in Jesus). They are:
Redeemed - we are blood bought sinner/saints
Light - We are ministers of proclamation and reconciliation
Sent - we are sent to a particular place, people, and time
Disciple - we follow and seek Jesus, growing in love and knowledge of Him and the power of His resurrection
Family - as a part of the family of God, we as a church are a family of families
What is your philosophy of community at Anchor, and what does that look like practically?
Anchor is built as a collective of Gospel Communities - missionary teams of disciples who worship Jesus by doing life together and by going to those who don't know Him. This is the main focus of our church, as we devote our time and attention to being a community, and one that is mobilized to reach our neighbors who don't know Jesus. Gospel Communities are people who do life together asking the question - what does it mean to be a Christian all of the time?
Practically this has looked like spending the summer praying, serving each other, going on mission, and just doing life together.
What is your philosophy of evangelism in your church and what does that look like practically?
It is our call to proclaim the Good News to our neighbors who don't know Him (and each other) in gospel word, gospel action, and gospel community. Our whole lives are about living for the name of Jesus in the things we say, the things we do, and the way we do life together. This has practically looked like opening our homes for community meals, parties, and home improvement projects and inviting the non-Christians we know to do life with our community. In addition, we have gone to our neighbors - practically this has been in the way of park restorations, leaders meetings at coffee shops, helping people move, and blessing local organizations in the name of Jesus.

What are some examples of God's grace that you have seen in your life and/or the life of your church?
A few weeks ago a woman who was spending time with our Gospel Community became a Christian.
One of our core members had thousands of dollars worth of tools stolen (that he needs to put food on the table for wife and baby). I got the word out to the church at 10am and by 7pm that night we had raised the money to replace everything.
We are about to send out 2 new Gospel Communities on mission out into Seattle.
How can we pray for you?
That we would keep our eyes on Jesus and His Glory. That He would save as many people as possible in Seattle and that we would be faithful to the job that He has for Anchor, whatever that may be.
