The Called, Humble, Equipped Man
I am very excited about our St Louis Boot Camp going down in just a few weeks. Being around men dreaming of planting churches, those planting churches, and men leading churches always stirs things in my soul and makes me both a better man and better leader.
I will be teaching on “The Man," taking a deep look at God’s idea for authentic manhood in general and specifically, what kind of men we desperately need to plant and lead churches. Thankfully, God is not silent on the issue of masculinity.
"Imagine thousands of men stepping out
of passivity and owning the mandate
to create and to cultivate what is created."
In Genesis 1 God gives us a model of masculinity. He looks into the chaos of nothingness...and He does something. He speaks, He declares, He acts, He initiates, and He creates. He models for men in Genesis 1 what He then mandates for men in Genesis 2 and that is to be creators and cultivators.
Imagine thousands of men stepping out of passivity and owning the mandate to create and to cultivate what is created. Now imagine God calling some of those men of initiative into entrepreneuring new churches. What if those men were all dominated by the gospel, humble, bold, gospel fluent, equipped, dependent and brave. What if those new churches they planted also built men who were Godly servant leaders and sent them well to plant churches to build men to plant churches?
I want that! I hope you want that. See you in the STL.
